East German Impressions

Day 1. Arrival At the Thuringian Forest.

Arrival at heart of Germany in the Thuringian Forest. Dinner and accomodation in your hotel.

Day 2. Weimar – Leipzig.

After today’s breakfast continue your tour via Ilmenau ( Goethe Museum ) to Weimar where you will undertake a city tour. Continue to Leipzig. Through its position at important trading routes, Leipzig became an important trading town early in history. During a quided city tour you will see bourgeois homes, old merchants houses, St.Nikolai’s Church, the old stock amrket, the famous concert hall “Gewandhaus”, the opera and much more. Tonight’s dinner will take place in a historic restaurant in Leipzig. Accomodation in your hotel in the Leipzig area.

Day 3. Leipzig – Dresden – Berlin.

Leave Leipzig after breakfast. After two hours on your coach you will reach Dresden. Your city guide who will show you Dresden, also called “the Florence on the Elbe”. See the Zwinger, the Semper Opera, the Albertinum, and the “Green Vault” with its famous art treasures. Late in the afternoon continue to Berlin. Accomodation in your hotel in the Berlin / Potsdam area.

Day. 4. Berlin – Potsdam – Berlin.

Today’s programme starts with a city tour through the East and the West of Berlin. In the afternoon continue to Potsdam for a city tour. Accomodation in your hotel in the Berlin/Potsdam area.

Day 5. Berlin – Rűgen – Stralsund/Rostock.

Via Oranienburg you will reach Neubrandenburg which is famous for its well preserved city walls and historic centre. In the afternoon continue to Greifswald and the Hanseatic city of Stralsund. During an informative city tour you will see the historic centre of this old seaport. Dinner and accommodation in your hotel in the Stralsund/Rostock area.

Day 6. Homeward via Rostock – Wismar – Schwerin.

After breakfast undertake a city tour in Rostock and see this important Baltic seaport. Then start your homeward journey via Wismar and Schwerin, the capital of Mecklenburg – Vorpommern.
